Peter Ryffel joined the Innovation and New Ventures team as a Practicum Intern in October of 2024 before transitioning to a role as a Research Associate in April of 2025. He currently works with Northwestern faculty to acquire intellectual property protection for new technologies in the physical sciences and green technology fields.
Prior to joining INVO, Peter received his BS in Chemistry from the University of Chicago and his Master’s in Organic Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Most recently, Peter worked as a Research Project Coordinator in a biophysics and physical chemistry lab at Northwestern. His research background is in organic chemistry where he worked on the development of synthetic methodology and the total synthesis of bioactive natural products.
