What can you do to help the patenting and commercialization process?
- Complete the disclosure as thoroughly as possible. This will decrease questions from our office and streamline its processing.
- Be available to your invention manager (IM). Once the disclosure is submitted, your IM may want to discuss the technology in greater detail.
- Respond to your IM's questions quickly. IMs are liaisons between you, patent attorneys and the USPTO. Some of their questions may be time-sensitive.
- Send relevant updates to your IM. Tell us about future publications, technology developments and industry contacts. Additional patents may need to be filed.
