MOBILE APPLICATION DEVELOPER

POSITION DESCRIPTION
For our Niles, IL location, Sibel is currently looking for an exceptional and highly motivated Mobile Application Developer. As a Mobile Application Developer, you will have an immediate and direct impact on Sibel Heath as a whole. We are looking for developers who want to build applications that support new and innovative hardware sensor technologies in the health and medical device industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, test, and maintain both new and existing mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms
- Use both native and cross-platform frameworks (such as Xamarin) to implement iOS and Android-specific user interfaces based on design specifications
- Create and optimize Bluetooth communication channels between the mobile application and wearable biometric hardware
- Develop seamless communication protocols between the mobile application and cloud services such as AWS or Azure
- Work with researchers and clinicians in order to understand expected application behavior
- Create product specification documentation based on the needs collected from researchers/clinicians
- Support the team in product development planning (e.g. time estimates, product cost)
- Establish and practice good mobile development processes and procedures
- Create software development documentation and processes following FDA regulatory guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
- 1+ years of industry experience in building iOS or Android mobile applications
- Experience with native and cross-platform mobile development languages and frameworks such as Java/Kotlin, C#(Xamarin), Swift/Objective-C
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect mobile applications to back-end services
- Experience in building adaptive UI and layouts for Android and iOS
- Experience with mobile application design principles and interface design guidelines
- Experience in agile software development, revision control, and collaboration
- Experience with build tools such as Git, JIRA, Jenkins, etc.
- Basic understanding of the Bluetooth communication protocol and of building BLE based mobile applications
- Familiarity with the latest IoT services on cloud computing platforms such as Azure or AWS
- A passion for writing high-quality, dynamic, and efficient code
- A strong grasp of computer science fundamentals as well as OOP principles following modern mobile standards
- Ability to communicate ideas and developmental methodologies with developers and non-developers
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
- Ability to effectively and independently own areas of development and contribute to development deliverables as part of a team
- Experience in team leadership and providing mentorship to less experienced team members
- Experience in coordinating applications with embedded software and BLE communication
- Experience in designing and scaling a mobile application in Android or iOS
